7 fricken months

7 months since my last post. Wow. I just haven’t had the blog bug for quite some time, not to mention any free time I’ve had has been consumed by various things such as watching movies and playing Xbox 360 on my new 50″ plasma. Yes I almost wanted to make love to it the first night I set it up. I finally gave in to peer pressure from friends and picked up the Xbox 360 Elite. Truth be told, I haven’t turned on my Wii since I got it. It’s an amazing gaming system and the online component totally blows away all the other consoles out there. Speaking of Xbox, E3 is going on right now and there are alot of exciting things coming this fall such as Gears of War 2, Rock Band 2 (online world band tour - finally!!) and a drastic dashboard software update.

Marie & I are in the process of putting up vinyl siding on our house. After getting quotes ranging from around $5000 to $6300, I was determined to do it myself. After pricing out the materials needed, doing it ourselves was only going to cost just over $1,000! It’s ridiculous that companies are charging the kind of money they are for installing vinyl siding, especially since most home owners can do it themselves. We have finished the north side of the house and are making progress on the south side. We also ordered new windows for the garage which I’ll install before we do the siding on the east side of the house. Those windows are in horrible shape and it will be much easier to replace them before the siding is up. The house is already looking alot better. The wood was rotting in spots and the painting was flaking quite a bit. After the siding is complete, I’ll be putting up new gutters which should hopefully divert all the water coming off from the roof away from the foundation on the house and out of my basement. During the bad storm we had recently in which we lost power for 2 days, we got a bit of water in a couple different areas of the basement including my home theatre room. Good thing I bought that wet/dry vac when I did.

Ethan never ceases to amaze me and at the same time can drive me completely nuts! He’s at that age where he questions everything along with wanting to do everything himself. He can be so cute and tender one moment and then a terror on two legs in another. I don’t know where he gets all his energy.

I’ve got a ton of new pictures I have to upload to my photo gallery which I should be getting to this weekend. Stay tuned.
